Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. Plus more.
Builds off DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) to focus on justice. We look at historical and systemic injustices. Our work seeks to dismantle systemic barriers and power imbalances.
My work in social justice showed me that the most impactful PMEL is done in organisations with a strong culture, that practices equity and respect, and that has a solid foundation in values. I regularly give talks and host seminars on a range of topics related to JEDI/DEIB.
I am deeply committed to anti-racism, justice, and decolonial approaches. I believe that doing the right thing is never as hard as it appears, so my workshops and consultations all focus on simple action plans. Many of us already know what’s broken, and are looking for a simple answer to the ‘now what?’ question. That’s what I do.
I provide bespoke workshops for organisations, private companies, government agencies, or any group of more than one person who is looking for support.
Case Study: The Role of DEI in Evaluation
New Philanthropy Capital (NPC), 2022
I spoke at a panel discussion with NPC on the role of diversity, equity, and inclusion in evaluation.
Based on conversations during the Q&As, I was inspired to write a blog post on how we can decolonise and shift power in our sector.

Consultations
Includes advisory, strategic, and management consultations – either in-person, online, or hybrid.
I like to focus on a systems-based approach to look at the different layers of oppression and injustice contained within an issue like gender pay equity. No issue with JEDI can be solved properly with a simple consultancy session.
Pay equity for example, means a few conversations with different teams – HR, senior management, ERGs, normal people who face inequities in the workplace, so I can scope your realities. I then create an action plan, roadmap, or strategy that fits within your environment and is therefore much more likely to succeed – and grow. We’ll work together from discovery to assessment, planning, launch, and evaluation.
It may take some investment in time and resources, but in my experience this has always led to something meaningful that satisfies different groups of people.
The solutions are normal, simple, easy to understand, and something people can start doing immediately after our sessions.
My hope is to make social change seem like an easily achievable goal rather than something that takes undue resources and time.
Training and Workshops
My participatory and arts-based approaches to JEDI+ work create a space where people feel welcome and fully able to express themselves in a workshop.
I’ve found this leads to some truly transformational results, meaning that the action plans and commitments we agree to are much more likely to succeed.
I use decolonised, participatory, and intersectional pedagogies but packaged in a human, jargon-free way, which helps to create a creative space to engage with the topics and to have honest discussions about the ‘big topics’ like power and social change.
As with my PMEL workshops, everything is tailored to your organisation’s needs, realities, concerns, and what your teams believe would be the most useful JEDI+ changes or improvements.
Sometimes, that could look like building a more informal office environment where people are able to bring ‘their whole selves’ to the work place. We would begin with a few exploratory calls to understand your needs, resources, and limitations. I create a workshop based around these, so that any recommendations made are easy to implement, and therefore more likely to succeed. We’ll build it in the best way to make it accessible for everyone, considering languages, cultures, media, and other needs.
No one wants to go to a ‘DEI workshop’ and coming away feeling like nothing is applicable to their work or teams.
Leadership Coaching
I support leaders at all levels with 1:1 coaching and peer learning.
I like to combine this with team work to practice new ideas and strengthen these important and trusting relationships.

JEDI stands for Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. I add a + to signify that the work doesn’t start or end with these four concepts, and that the work continues.
Plus it’s got the word ‘Jedi’ in it.
