Use this table as a starting point for your project plan, research, or any other investigation into your community.
Begin with your main questions, which will show you related issues that you can explore during your work. It’ll help you map out the main areas, and could inspire a Theory of Change, outcome areas, or a stakeholder analysis. I’ve shared some sample questions here, from different types of projects – infrastructure, education, WASH, and child protection.
I use this exercise to help me map out different ideas as they come to me, and you can share this with other teams including your PMEL officers for their reviews. You can use this as a starting point for meetings and planning sessions with local partners and communities to get their analysis and reprioritisation, to help you make sure that your key areas of investigation line up with what they need too.
